Surface Coating Testing
The Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act implemented new regulations that require the surface coatings of any children’s product manufactured on or after December 22, 2008 to have the surface coatings tested for lead content by an independent third party laboratory, accredited per the CPSC’s requirements to

Ignition Strength of Cigarettes
As of February 2009, only 4 states have not at least filed legislation requiring all cigarettes sold in each state be classified as “fire safe cigarettes”. 22 states already have laws in place requiring this and an additional 24 states have legislation pending.
